Proximity card is a generic name for contactless integrated circuit devices used for security access.
The Proximity cards has built-in reader element. When one of these cards is placed within 2 inches of a proximity reader, identifying information is read from the card and sent to a controller which will grant or deny access to the area.

Thin Proximity Cards
Proximity cards (or access cards) are hybrid technology that incorporate a simple electric circuit (proximity tag and coil) imbedded in a plastic card. No battery is needed and the circuit is not removable without destroying it and the card. When the card is correctly positioned with respect to a reader a high speed RF signal passes between card and reader and unique data is transferred.
ISO standard proximity card is 0.75mm thick and can have printed material attached to the front. It is supplied with a pre-assigned unique code.
- Range: 9-10cm (3.5"-4")

- Each card has a unique pre-assigned code (10 digit number) printed on the back.
- 50 pieces per pack
HID Cards
HID cards are simply proximity cards branded by the HID global corporation, a worldwide leader in proximity cards and access control. Like other proximity and RFID cards, an HID card is simply an ID card which enables proximity technology in its everyday functions. HID cards, as well as other types of RFID cards and smart cards, are popular for access control, as well as other functions like public transportation and employee ID.
